Ponchos are warm, easy to wear and so versatile. Throw it on, and head out the door. Or take an extra moment to line up the joining seam, just forward of your arm and shoulder. For some more elegance, turn it a little, with the seam now down your centre back, roll the neckline over a couple of times, pair with some smart jeans and a long necklace. My favourite way to wear these though is by bringing up the corner by your wrist to your shoulder and holding it there with a shawl pin. The everyday poncho now looks smart enough for an evening out in town. There are endless ways to wear a poncho and the ultimate style is completely up to you.
This poncho has been dyed using the leaves from the eucalypts on our property and in the neighbouring reserve.
Ponchos make versatile and comfortable maternity wear. And many new mothers also choose to wear a poncho both for the warmth and protection it provides while you carry your baby on your chest, but also for comfort, simplicity and privacy while nursing.
Our small herd of suri alpacas live here on our farm and I can watch them grazing contentedly from the window while I weave. The merino is Australian and processed here in NSW, making our slow fashion products truely sustainable and ethical.
Gently hand wash in warm water, wrap in a towel to remove excess water and lay flat to dry. Do not wring. Can be ironed with a protective cotton tea towel laid over it.
