Silk Scribbly Gum Wraps
These wraps are extra luxurious. I have woven a fine silk/alpaca thread through the merino warp. The silk has a lustre all it’s own and the drape of both silk and suri alpaca is second to none.
These wraps are fine enough to wear as a simple scarf or to drape over your shoulders, wear one over a summer dress during those summer evenings when the air is fresh.
Before weaving, I dye the warp threads using the flora of our local environment. Each dye bath comes out slightly differently, making each piece unique and individual. It is a completely natural process, using only leaves, water and heat. Some pieces may have highlights of rose, magenta, mustard or olive, coming from the intentionally left residue of a previous dye bath.
These exquisitely soft wraps, with their gentle, organic shades, will pair perfectly with any chosen colour palette.
